New Retail Near SoFi Stadium

Let’s dig into new retail near SoFi Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and the site of Super Bowl LVI. The season’s final contest has come and gone, and that means that thousands flocked to Southern California for the week’s festivities. With that in mind, one can’t help but think about how those thousands spent their time in and around Los Angeles before making their respective ways to Inglewood’s sparkly, shiny, $5 billion-plus SoFi Stadium for the game.

Anyway, back to the meat. Here are some of the top new retail locations near SoFi Stadium. All project data is courtesy of Planned Retail and has been added or updated within the last 90 days, as of 2.9.22.

New Retail Near SoFi Stadium

All projects fall within an hour’s drive of SoFi Stadium, as measured using PlannedRetail’s Buffer feature, pictured above in an in-product screenshot. Because custom buffers create either a distance (miles) or drive-time (minutes) boundary ring around a given location, users can map the projects and collect the data that meet their exact needs.

Details: Plans call for the demolition of the IB Plaza Shopping Center and the construction of a new mixed-use development. The eight-story building will include 230 apartment units and 12,175 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Of those apartments, 23 are designated for low-income households. An existing parking garage will be preserved, but will also be expanded to have shops and restaurants serving the public and a screening room for tenants. The structures will be connected by a pedestrian bridge on the fourth floor and the apartment building will stand perpendicular to the garage.

Details: Plans call for demolition of two commercial buildings and construction of new 3,267-square-foot one-story Raising Cane’s restaurant with a drive-thru.

Notably, Raising Cane’s has completed at least three new projects in the Los Angeles area within the last year, suggesting an ambition to infiltrate the West Coast’s fast food stalwarts. Additionally, all of those projects have been for free-standing buildings; the Amazon Fresh and Planet fitness projects, however, are backfills of a former Toys ‘R Us and grocery store, respectively.
